HOW TO PREPARE SUITABLE GRAPHIC FILES

When preparing your artwork files for submission, please adhere to the following Music Format Design Guidelines for optimal results.

Understanding the Format and File Types

  • Flattened PDFs: Begin by ensuring your artwork is sent as flattened .PDF files in CMYK only, saved in the PDF/X-1a:2001 format.
  • Avoid Certain File Types: Remember, file types like .INDD, .PSD, .AI, or others outside of PDF are not acceptable.

Naming and Color Management

  • Project Naming: Start your file name with the project name (e.g., YOUR PROJECT 001 – Sleeve/Label A/Insert…), which aids in organization.
  • Color Standards: Additionally, use FOGRA39 Euroscale for consistent color management.

Design and Layout Essentials

  • Template and Guidelines: Crucially, do not include the template or guidelines in your final design, as they are for reference only.
  • Label Artwork: Moreover, make sure to fill the middle holes of labels with artwork, avoiding any blank spaces.
  • Bleed Areas: Also, a 5 mm extra bleed on all sides for Labels, Sleeves, and Inserts is necessary for a neat finish.
